The North Columbia Business Association (NCBA) was formed for the purpose of promoting business in North Columbia and allowing businesses to speak as one voice on important business interests, including but not limited to developing a spirit of cooperation among the merchants, improving trade relations, establishing and maintaining business ethics, addressing zoning issues, and enhancing and improving aesthetic, traffic and parking conditions.
History
North Columbia Business Association was established in March 2008. The founder of the association is Ms. Sabrina Odom. The purpose of the association is to unite all businesses located in the North Columbia area, while re-building and re-establishing the image of the North Columbia community.
NCBA offers the North Columbia business community:
Professional Networking
NCBA holds monthly meetings to bring members up-to-date on the activities of the organization and provide speaking opportunities for individuals from government, business and community organizations. Meetings also provide an opportunity for members to meet potential new clients.
Education Workshops
Every two months NCBA organizes various education workshops through its membership base, which includes Columbia College.
Government Affairs
NCBA arranges for elected representatives to meet with members to discuss concerns and calls to action for improvements in the business community.
Social Networking
NCBA holds social events at the Eau Claire Print Building and other venues to provide an opportunity for a casual meet and greet and to further the goals of the association.
Community Outreach
NCBA regularly communicates with neighborhood associations to maintain and expand efforts to make North Columbia a more vibrant neighborhood in which to live and do business.
